I find one of the best relaxation techniques for me is to paint, to create color art as part of my own mind meditation. To create this rainbow colored mixed media batik painting flower art, I started with a photo of I captured during a walk to connect with the energy of nature. Later, as part of my mindful meditation practice, I created a modern art painting from the photo and then digitally incorporated some of my favorite batik textiles, layering and massaging abstract color over color until the piece was complete. I signed with love in the lower right corner. :) Now I offer this art for sale to those looking for relaxation techniques themselves, or a way to practice their own relaxation meditation.

I find the art of the flower to be nature's color palette. Deep, fiery reds; warm, sultry oranges; vivid magentas; spicy yellows; cool, watery blues; energetic lavenders and violets; calming greens. Often, I will begin a relaxation meditation with an image I've captured of a floral scene, drawing inspiration from God's own delicate canvas art.

Color can be energizing, calming, and healing and I find it to be the perfect relaxation technique. I believe that surrounding yourself with color art is a wonderful way to connect with your intuition, your life energy. Use it as part of your own mind meditation. I have found that understanding how different colors make you feel, and tapping into the energy of colors, can help you realign yourself, strengthen your aura and bring inner peace and wholeness.

Meditation mindfulness is one technique that I use to clear my mind, heal my energy (chi), find inspiration, and align myself with my life purpose. I most often practice active meditation, but for sitting meditation practice, I find color art a helpful relaxation technique, allowing me to easily slip inside my being. Once there, I allow the color to direct me and show me where I need to be.

Color can also be used to shift the energy in your home or work environment, creating harmonious feng shui, with abstract art. Feng shui consists of five elements, each which correlates to a specific color family. Knowing these correlations will allow you to choose a piece of color art to balance and harmonize your space. You can mingle colors when selecting works of modern art, each piece does not have to be predominately the healing color. Multi-colored pieces will work, even if there is just a small element of the desired healing color, as long as that is the color that speaks to you in the piece.
.......................................................................................................
The Fire Element in Feng Shui correlates to red, orange, purple, pink and strong yellow and represents energy and passion. Symbolically, red is love and romance and is the Chinese color of luck.
.......................................................................................................
The Earth Element in Feng Shui correlates to the obvious earthy, sandy colors, and beige, but also to light yellow. The Earth Element represents calm, stability and nourishment.
.......................................................................................................
The Metal Element in Feng Shui represents clarity, preciseness and efficiency and correlates to the colors gray and white.
.......................................................................................................
The Water Element in Feng Shui correlates to blue and black and represents calm, ease, purity and freshness. Symbolically, it is abundance and, thus, a cure for wealth.
.......................................................................................................
The Wood Element in Feng Shui correlates to brown and green, and represents health vitality and growth. Symbolically, it is also a cure for wealth and prosperity.

Collecting fine art and enjoying it in your home or workplace will bring you many benefits by touching a memory, allowing you to daydream of a time or place beyond your every day reach, giving you a brief vacation from your daily stress and pressures. In the workplace, especially, fine art has been shown to reduce stress, increase creativity and productivity, enhance morale, broaden appreciation of diversity, and encourage open communication. This is why some of the most successful businesses around the world adorn common areas and employee spaces with the beauty of fine art.

A little about me, Jani Bryson: I am a fine artist and award winning professional photographer. I am fascinated with color, and inspired by spiritual connection, synchronicity and energy. Deeply intuitive, and highly sensitive, when photographing, I attempt to capture the essence of the soul in my imagery. An avid beachcomber, I collect shells, pebbles and rocks from around the world because I feel they are vessels of energy and beauty from many different times and places. I am always learning and make a conscious effort to explore new ideas and study new things. I find my greatest inspiration through meditative practice.
